As they say. Let the games begin. When I first started developing this show I was really worried. After all, you can’t to magic on a train. So many people told me this. But, Its a really great time. And the magic is really good too. Buy tickets early. These often sell out completely.
Palm Reading for the masses “spooky accurate”
Had a great time recently working a state convention for teens. The organizers wanted something different. We ended up doing palm reading. In the same room where I was working there were photo booths, video games, a corn hole game, free food, and a cartoon artist. But palm reading appeared to be the one that got the most attention. In 2 days at this convention I delivered over 100 palm readings. Not one person gave me a score below 85% accurate. Most say that the lines on their hands and the skill of the reader was above 95% and many just say I was “spooky accurate”. A great time was had by all.
By the way, my friend Obtuse Mage created this really cool sign for my palm reading booth. Let me know if you need good graphic work done. I will pass along his contact information to anyone who needs it.
Back to my Good Friends in Indy
In spite of many attempts to make performance and personal schedules work, I never made it to Indianapolis for Indianapolis Magic Monthly last year. So, I made a special effort to call them up and make it happen this year.
IMM is one of the few, real safe havens for magic in this area. Unassuming and friendly, they produce a variety magic show once a month. Some big names come through. Other performers are denizens of the magic underground. Each show is different. Each show is fun. And their host, Taylor Martian is a real gem. (If you know Taylor you will know what I mean).
Just an all around great place for Magical Entertainment for Adults, Kids, Families, and tourists.
Next Show is Feb 2nd. See you there.
This Year’s Christmas Shows
Some years I find myself working large audiences for big companies. This year, I find myself working smaller shows. If I had to choose, I like the smaller shows ranging from high society to family gatherings. (Everybody loves magic).
There I get to actually see the people I’m entertaining. There is a rule in magic. The closer the audience, the stronger the magic.
Next week I will be performing at an elegant Christmas Desert Function for a group of ladies. Later I will be working for a gathering of horse enthusiasts at their Christmas party at one of the horse farms. Some groups are larger than others. But Christmas is always a great time for magic.
An End and a Beginning
Last night was the last of the RJ Corman Magic Dinner Train shows for this year. Sales were good enough they had to move the show to the large car. I broke out some new material for the table side magic. I really enjoy it when I have time to share the really complex card work that people never get to see in real life. It looks cool on TV. Its totally astonishing in person.
Now we head into the Christmas season with company Christmas party shows and other gatherings.
Big plans in the works for next year. Can’t wait to see how it all works out. I’m just along for a magical ride.
